Windsor, Ont – WIC Eid announcement

Eid-ul-Fitr Announcement

Dear community members, Assalamu Alaikum,

On behalf of the Imams Council of Windsor, we are pleased to announce that tomorow Sunday June 25, 2017, will be Eid-Ul-Fitr and that today Saturday June 24 is the last day of Ramadan.

Eid prayers will be held at Central Park Athletics located at 3400 Grand Marais Rd. E. , a state of the art spacious facility that will provide our community with a great venue to pray Eid and enjoy a festive day with family and friends (games, kids face paintings, trampolines, Clowns, sports, food court, etc…)

Program of the Day

1st Prayer
Will Start at 08:00 AM Sharp and will be led by Imam Yousuf Wahb

2nd Prayer
Will start at 10:00 AM sharp and will be led by Imam Mohamed Mahmoud

PLEASE arrive early to make sure you are in the facility at least 30 minutes before the beginning of the prayer so that we avoid unnecessary traffic congestion.

Eid festivities for the entire family will commence in the same facility immediately after the second prayer as outlined above

Driving Directions:
The facility can be accessed from different directions. We kindly ask that you view the map below for exact location and directions:

We recommend for those driving from:

1) The East side (through Tecumseh Road or EC Row Expressway): 
Use Central Avenue into 3400 Grand Marais Road E

2) South & West Windsor (Through Tecumseh Road or EC Row Expressway):
Use Walker road into 3400 Grand Marais Road E.

In the case of overflow, additional parking will be available at the UNIFOR parking lot on Central Avenue and the lot next to Central Parks athletics – Our volunteers will guide you to these additional parking areas if necessary.

We anticipate that we will have plenty of parking for everyone. However, we kindly ask members of the community to please car pool whenever possible to ensure the smoothest of parking experience and to alleviate any unnecessary congestion.

Please follow the lead of our volunteers with regards to parking instructions.

We also kindly ask that you respectfully obey the instructions of Police Traffic Patrols and volunteers

NOTE: Please note that the Tartan floor (artificial grass) has been shampooed and their will be no need for prayer matts or floor covers

Community Eid Party ( at RCIC)
The main community Eid Party is at the RCIC on Sunday July 2 between 11:30 am and 05:00 pm.  There are lots of fun activities and variety of food services for the entire family, especially the kids.
